Director Mineral Resources Department;
Acting Director;
Divisional Managers;
Colleagues.
Bula vinaka and a very good afternoon to you all.
I am indeed honored to be here this afternoon and be part of your End of Year Church Service.
As the end of the year draws near and Christmas festivities get underway, I want to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the hard-working, dedicated staff of the two Ministry’s that come under my portfolio for their efforts in 2017 and this new financial year.
This has been a big year for the two Ministries’ and your progress, innovation, achievements and milestones have not gone unnoticed.
On reflection after many months visiting the various divisional offices and other operational branches, it is clear to me that one of the most rewarding facets of my role is the chance to meet so many of you.
Whether in our little ‘talanoa’ sessions after hours, official get together ,meetings and consultations I have had many rewarding and eye-opening conversations with all of you about how to deliver the best services in the various areas of technical expertise that you hold. Indeed, I’m indebted to you all.
We’ve seen some great accomplishments for the benefit of our clients and the general public that we serve, and I look forward to seeing further innovation and advancements in the year to come.
While challenges may be on the horizon, it is important that we work together and prepare our heart this season to overcome the obstacles ahead of us and it is your effort, dedication and commitment to excellence that shows the people of Fiji they are in safe hands.
As we prod on to greater heights of achievements, I would like to encourage all of you with God Adonais assurance to Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah chapter 45 verses 2 and 3 which read:
“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight, I will break in pieces the gates of brass and cut in sunder the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I ,the Lord ,who call you by name ,am the God of Israel”.
Please utilize your potentials to the best of your abilities and all give your utmost best.
With those words, I wish you all and your families a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
