Trade Measurement

The Department of National Trade Measurement and Standards (DNTMS) conducts verification of measuring instruments used for trade. Measuring instruments to be used for trade has to be Fiji Pattern Approved and operating within the maximum permissible limits of error permitted as required by the National and Trade Measurement Act 1989.

Trade Metrology

The verification process comprises of testing procedures and standardized requirements to evaluate the metrological and technical characteristics of the instruments in a uniform and traceable way. Trade measurement Inspectors guarantee the consistency of these measurements, reducing disputation, and fraud whilst increasing the efficiency of the marketplace.
