Friday, 4 October 2019 – As an organisation, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (Ministry) strives to achieve positive economic impact on society as a whole while maximising the conception of shared values.
In recognising the importance of animal welfare, the Ministry visited the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to extend its support and acknowledgement of SPCA’s work throughout Fiji. The Ministry’s support included donations of pet food, blankets, newspapers and laundry products.
Deepening awareness among stakeholders, from policymakers to local communities, and ensuring that we understand the value of protecting disadvantaged animals was the message conveyed by Management of SPCA during the visit. The SPCA management also conveyed its appreciation to the Ministry and welcomed those interested in becoming a member or volunteer.
SPCA’s services include an animal shelter that holds vulnerable animals until they find homes, cruelty investigations, animal rescue, and veterinary services. To get involved, visit https://www.spcafiji.com/get-involved
