Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO)
Fiji is a founding member of the Pacific Tourism Organisation (formerly Tourism Council of the South Pacific and then South Pacific Tourism Organisation), which was established in 1983.
The SPTO is the mandated organisation representing tourism in the region, with 21 Government members and about 200 private sector members. Its role is to promote, facilitate, undertake, co-ordinate, advise and co-operate tourism related activities that promote sustainable tourism development in the Pacific.
As a founding member and host country of the SPTO, Fiji has actively participated in the progress of the SPTO and growth of tourism in the Pacific.
