Tourism Human Resources Needs Assessment
In an effort to revitalise the Fijian tourism workforce, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, in collaboration with United Nations World Tourism Organisation and with the technical support of Victoria University, conducted a rapid Human Resource Needs Assessment.
The Assessment identifies baseline information on opportunities and barriers — from both demand and supply side. It provides recommendations that examine options and scenarios for human resources development within the framework of COVID-19 tourism recovery.
It further helps understand how challenges can be addressed to ensure readiness in the new normal, with the right skill set to cater for changing demands, new markets and to strengthen competitiveness. The Assessment, in addition to being part of Fiji’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, is a key deliverable of the Fijian Tourism 2021.
