EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING PANEL

The Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications (Ministry) is responsible for formulating and implementing policies and strategies that create and facilitate growth in industry, investment, trade, co-operative businesses, micro, medium and small enterprises, and enhance metrology, standards and consumer protection.

To better serve its responsibilities, the Ministry needs to have crucial pieces of legislation drafted so as to expedite and complement current work being undertaken by the Government’s mandated Chief Legal Advisors, the Office of the Solicitor-General.

In this regard, the Ministry is calling for Expression of Interest from legal practitioners and firms to be part of a Legislative Drafting Panel which would be partly responsible in assisting the Ministry to obtain final approvals from the Solicitor General’s Office on various proposed legislative work in a timely and resource efficient manner.

Suitably qualified legal experts and firms with demonstrable experience in drafting legislation will be more favourably considered.
