PUBLIC NOTICE

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport wishes to advise the general public, that in exercise of the powers vested in the Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport pursuant to section 8 of the Regulation of Surfing Areas Act 2010, access to the waves at Cloudbreak Reef and Tavarua Island Surfing areas for a period of three half days or 18 hours for the waiting period 20 – 30 August 2022, is restricted. The restriction of access to the waves in the surfing area during the specified period is to ensure the safety of the general public and all persons engaged in the inaugural International Windsurf Wave Riding event (‘event’) organised by the Fiji Surf Company (Fiji Surf Co’).

The general public is requested to kindly refrain from the conduct of any activities in the mentioned surfing areas during the specified periods, and to liaise with Mr Ian Muller of Fiji Surf Co on telephone at +679 891 1932 for confirmation on the exact event dates.
